In April 1945, a conference was held in San-Francisco, in which Brazil and China proposed that an international health organization should be established. So, World health organization formally came into existence on 7th April in 1948. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesis is the present Director-General of WHO, who was appointed on 1st July 2017. The country of nationality of Tedros Adhanom is Ethiopia. Due to this, the World health day is being celebrated on 7th April every year.
